CastAgent is the script- and cast-tracking system for Deadweasel Studio. Its sole purpose is to automate and enhance the process of producing a huge project like Children of the Gods.
For casting

• CastAgent handles the tasks of making published scripts available to potential volunteers, and automates the process of auditioning for a part, as well as submitting the final voice work.
• It also provides ready access to casting status for all published episode scripts, so there's little confusion about the status of a character part.
• User accounts for existing cast members on the CotG site are accessible to CastAgent, eliminating the need for yet another website account.

For production

• CastAgent keeps everything organized and in order so that no volunteer gets left behind or forgotten in the shuffle. Everybody gets a fair shot, and nobody need worry about their voice being almost literally lost to the void after sending an email.
• Submissions are automated through CastAgent. No more slow and unreliable email attachments! All submissions, auditions and final voicework alike, are processed through CastAgent and delivered directly to the production studio. Gone are the days of missed emails and broken links.

For releases

• CastAgent automatically embeds the credits listing for each episode as it's released. Nobody gets accidentally left of a manually-assembled listing.
• Cast members now have the ability to promote themselves, by including a website, twitter ID or Facebook page as part of their login profile, which can be embedded alongside their credit in an episode release.

To put it simply, CastAgent does all the "dirty work" that comes as part of the casting and production process, freeing up more time for all of us to focus on the fun part of the project! It has been playing a part on the CotG for some time now, in the form of the LiveView sidebar widget on the main page of the site, offering up the casting status of the next coming episode.
