How goes the casting for the next episode? Need any submissions for bit, or other, parts? As always, if I can help, I'll cheerfully send some lines your way.

3 comms/small parts up for grabs. When you open a script window, you can pick the parts you want/need highlighted. I forget what format cmack prefers to receive(I seem to be remember 32 bit mp3 being fine, but I'll let him have the final word), but leave the recording raw. Take out as many background noise sources you can, but let cmack clean up the recording itself.

32 bit?? Surprised

That ought to be interesting… :D

Terry, 128kbps mp3 is fine, just don't do any post cleanup on your recordings (as before), and all will be well.

You can see what's still open at http://childrenofthegods.net/m…..-to-ground

Click on "Open Script Window" to get a look at the full script, select the parts you want to highlight, and you're off to the races! :)

I know I sent in several auditions for each of the next, what, 3 episodes?, and I've not heard anything, as in even any sort of acknowledgment that they've been received?

I'm gonna side with CMack on this, you should never, under any circumstances use compression or pitch shifting to make your voice sound like Scott Liaj… Ever… You should work harder than Scott at getting a better mic. or recording away from the whirring heap of electronics that is his antiquated desktop, but never alter the recording in any way… Oh, also don't refer to yourself in the third person, it makes me seem like a douche…

On a side note, Hi, I'm Mike…Goofy

There's supposed to be a mailing rule in place that acknowledges received audition files, but apparently I fail at creating said rules. :/

I did get your stuff, but haven't yet had a chance to give em a good listenin' to. They're stashed away neatly in the auditions directory, though, so rest assured you'll be hearing back from me very soon. I'm currently trying to get things situated under another program to use for production, as Vegas simply isn't able to keep up any longer, and my hardware is quite frankly a bit long in the tooth.
Nothing but dirty, dirty hacks going on here in the Studio! :D

Sit tight please, I've set aside time during the next few days to go over the submissions and hear just what's what! <3

Hey Folks!

Just started listening to your series! Great quality and very gripping! I'd love to audition but there are lot of coding errors on the casting pages as well as on other pages. Is there another place where I can see the auditions? :D

Looking forward to hearing from you.

This is what it says on my screen as well as my university computer screen.

A Database Error Occurred

Error Number: 1146

Table 'cmack_sundance.ch12assign' doesn't exist

SELECT ch12assign.*, characters.*, Users.* FROM ch12assign LEFT JOIN characters ON characters.CharacterID = ch12assign.StoryChar LEFT JOIN Users ON Users.id = ch12assign.CreditName ORDER BY characters.Type DESC, characters.StoryChar ASC

Any advise?

Long story short, what you're seeing is the direct result of SunDance going through some serious work to bring about functionality I've wanted it to have for quite some time. I hadn't originally intended for the thing to undergo the changes on the live server, but an update to the back-end code broke the original version pretty seriously, taking everything having to do with casting down in the process.

The first major change was to start re-branding what was supposed to be only a project name (SunDance) to the non-copyrighted CastAgent. After that came the live script viewing functionality, and then restoration of the chapter status views, (such as the LiveView you see on the sidebar of the front page of this site).

I am currently working on the very sub-system that is producing the errors you are seeing, which used to provide a larger version of the front page's LiveView for each of the coming chapters. It's taking a little longer to restore that, because I'm adding some interactive features to it, such as the ability to quickly see a character's bio, or to try out for a part with just a few clicks, instead of the current manual email-and-wait process. At present, the Children of the Gods site is trying to access a part of the old SunDance system that no longer exists, resulting in the database error that you're seeing.

Rest assured that the main focus of the code work at present is to restore at least the cast status view that used to be there, and additional features will be added as they are completed. Smile

Hi CMack,

Thanks for the reply I really do appreciate it. Website coding and making more interactive is a tough job. It's just I don't know what the auditions are because of this error. What maybe I can do is give you a voice sample of what I can do or you can send a few lines Smile ?

Whether human or alien I don't mind or even machine/computer. I look forward to hearing from you.
